Terms of Use

The boring but necessary page. Here is what using this site actually means.

Acceptance of Terms

By reading this website, you agree to these terms. We can update them whenever we want; the current version posted here is the one that counts.

What This Site Is

The Muck is a non-commercial satire and news publication about poker. We are not a poker room, not a gambling operator, and we do not process real-money transactions of any kind. Nothing here is gambling advice, financial advice, or legal advice, and nothing here is an invitation to gamble.

Content & Satire

Most of what we publish is satire built on real, sourced facts, see Sourcing & Ethics for exactly how that works. The Side Pot is the one deliberate exception: everything there is entirely invented and labeled as fiction wherever it appears.

Accuracy & No Warranty

We try to get the facts right and we fix what we get wrong, every daily brief carries its own note asking readers to flag an error. Even so, this site is provided as is, with no warranty that anything on it is complete, current, or error-free.

Intellectual Property

The writing, illustrations, and design on this site are original work produced for The Muck and belong to us. Reference photos used to privately guide the art are separately licensed or credited, see Image Credits, and are not the same thing as the finished illustration. Do not republish, resell, or pass off our content as your own.

Limitation of Liability

Use this site at your own risk. We are not liable for anything that happens as a result of reading it, acting on it, or trusting a screen name as legal counsel, which it never is.

Changes

We may update these terms without individual notice. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
