Eight Bracelets, One Hotel Room Laptop
Daniel Negreanu, eight WSOP bracelets and a job as a GGPoker ambassador, made the trip so he could sit in a hotel room and open a laptop. The 2026 WSOP Online series runs 33 bracelet events between August 16 and September 29. A follower asked whether players could organize to change the law. He answered that many efforts have been made over the years, and that he is not hopeful of anything ever passing at the federal level. The trip is going well regardless: he reached the final table of Event 27, the $10,000 GGMillion$ pot-limit Omaha, and comes back Monday second in chips with seven players left, streaming it.
The Remedy Is a Plane Ticket
Nine US states have legalized online poker and six of them have a site actually running. Negreanu lives in one of the six. It does not help him, because the series carrying the 33 bracelets sits on a platform licensed in none of them, so the remedy available to a Las Vegas resident is a plane ticket and a week of hotel nights. The most recognizable player in the game is also the public face of a poker room he cannot open at home.
